Angola Hunger Relief was founded with a clear mission: to provide hunger relief to the millions of people in Angola suffering from malnutrition and food insecurity. According to UNICEF, 7.3 million Angolans face malnutrition and food insecurity, including 3.9 million children. Poverty in the country is also a growing concern, with estimates suggesting it could affect more than 19.2 million people.

We aim to empower the Communitarian Kitchen in Huambo to provide three nutritious meals daily, seven days a week, by establishing a sustainable and self-sufficient operational model. Through strategic initiatives, including the development of a pig farm, we seek to enhance food security, generate income, and foster community resilience.

Strategic Initiatives
- Sustainable Protein Source: The pig farm will supply a consistent source of protein, reducing dependency on external food aid and improving the nutritional quality of meals served.
- Income Generation: By breeding and selling pigs, the project will create a revenue stream to support the kitchen's operations and other community programs.
- Waste Reduction: Utilizing organic waste from the kitchen as pig feed promotes environmental sustainability and reduces operational costs.GoFundMe
- Community Empowerment: The project will offer training in animal husbandry, creating employment opportunities and building local capacity.
- Educational Workshops: Implementing programs to educate the community on nutrition, hygiene, and sustainable farming practices.
Long-Term Vision
By integrating the pig farm into the kitchen's operations, we envision a model of self-reliance that not only addresses immediate food insecurity but also contributes to the community's economic and social development.

I am the bread of life
I am the bread of life, is a collaboration with “The Boys Orphanage”, in Huambo which has enabled us to handout 70,160 bread rolls.
Due to the success of the programme we aim to double the amount of bread we provide yearly and to also reach as many beneficiaries as possible. As well as deliver skill-based bread making workshops for the beneficiaries.
